As Consumers’ Demand for Classic Desserts Remains High, Knouse Offers Menu Ideas for the Holiday Season with Lucky Leaf® Fruit Filling or Topping 

According to a recent study by Nielsen Perishables Group, desserts accounted for nearly half of all bakery dollar sales in 2012. The study revealed that across the dessert category, pies had the strongest volume growth of 5.1%, with sales highest in November and December around the holidays.

DuPont Award

Knouse Foods received the DuPont Award for "Excellence in Packaging," in recognition of our 46-48 oz. easy plastic grip apple sauce container. The DuPont Awards for Innovation in Food Processing and Packaging Technology is an international industry competition to recognize food and non-food industry advances that use plastic materials.

 

Diamond Award

Knouse Foods received the prestigious Diamond Award, the very top DuPont Award. The Diamond Award recognizes the new development judged as the most significant based upon the degree of innovation, the potential impact on the industry and consumers and the breadth of application for today and tomorrow. Agribusiness Achievement Award

Knouse Foods received the Pennsylvania State Agribusiness Achievement Award for its contribution to Pennsylvania agribusiness and the production of high-quality products. The awards were established to recognize agribusinesses that contribute to Pennsylvania's number one industry. They are presented to agriculture, food and wood companies that make a special contribution toward the development and expansion of Pennsylvania agriculture, as well as a positive commitment in their local community. Knouse is committed to high-quality products and the communities, and it shows.

 

Waste Minimization Award

Conservation and environmental responsibility are also top level priorities at Knouse Foods. As a grower-owned cooperative, we recognize the value and limitations of our resources. We have, therefore, created environmental awareness committees at each plant to identify environmental improvement opportunities in areas ranging from energy and water conservation to recycling and waste reduction. Our efforts in this area have been so successful, we have received the Pennsylvania Governor's Waste Minimization Award. We received this award after putting in place a program that reused, recycled or reclaimed more than 90% of our solid waste. Some of the qualifications to receive this award are the abilities to prevent waste generation, recycle waste material, treat material in a regulatory compliant manner and perform waste minimization economically.

 

Food Service Supplier of the Year

Knouse has been named Supplier of the Year 26 times by some of the largest food service companies in the world, like SYSCO, Unipro, U.S. Food Service and Pocohontas.

 

Telly Award for Advertising

Knouse has won the Telly Award for our Grandma's Kitchen Commercial. The Telly Award was founded to showcase and give recognition to outstanding non-network and cable television commercials, film and video productions, as well as non-network TV programming. Over the years, the Telly Awards have become a well-known, highly respected national competition. The Telly Award is the advertiser's equivalent of an Academy Award.

 

California Award of Excellence

Knouse has been a multiple winner of the highly coveted Award of Excellence at the California State Fair for our Apple Time apple juice and apple sauce.

 

Presidential Award for Export

Knouse Foods developed sparkling cider for sale in nations that prohibited the consumption of alcohol, and as a result, won the Presidential "E" Award for Excellence in exports. This award is one of the most prestigious export achievement honors conferred on United States companies. This award recognizes persons, firms or organizations that contribute significantly in the effort to increase U.S. exports.
